I borrowed this title from Pat Conroy’s Prince of Tides novel. I related so much to the book’s dysfunctional family who deal with storm surges and flooding that can take a life in an instant. The painting depicts things left behind at the beach. On closer inspection you see chairs, coolers, games and a potential life saving red and white striped float for a child. There is a powerful message in this painting that comes from my own personal experience.
